Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage divided by 100. For example, 20% of 80 is 80 × 0.20 = 16. The first calculator does this for you.
How is percentage change calculated?
Subtract the old value from the new, divide by the old value, then multiply by 100. A negative result means a decrease.
What's the difference between percentage change and percentage points?
Percentage change is relative to the starting value; percentage points are the absolute difference between two percentages (e.g., 10% to 15% is a 5-point rise but a 50% increase).
Is my data uploaded?
