About speech to text
Dictate with your microphone and have your words transcribed live using your browser's speech-recognition engine. Pick a language, start listening, and watch interim results refine into final text you can copy or download.
Recognition uses the Web Speech API in supported browsers (Chrome and Edge work best); your microphone audio is handled by the browser.
See interim words as you speak, finalized into the transcript.

Export your transcript as text in one click.

Frequently asked questions
Which browsers support this?
Speech recognition via the Web Speech API works in Chrome and Edge today. Firefox and Safari have limited or no support, in which case the tool shows a notice.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes, and you'll be asked to grant microphone permission. Recognition won't start until you allow access.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded by Bytewrench?
No. Audio is processed by your browser's speech engine. Bytewrench does not record, store or upload anything.
Why is recognition inaccurate sometimes?
Accuracy depends on microphone quality, background noise, accent and the chosen language. Speaking clearly and choosing the right language helps.
