About text to speech
Type or paste text and have your browser read it aloud using the built-in speech synthesis voices. Choose a voice and language, adjust the rate and pitch, and play, pause or stop playback. It's useful for proofreading, accessibility and learning pronunciation.
Synthesis uses your browser's native Web Speech API, so no audio is sent to a server.
Pick from the voices installed in your browser/OS, across many languages.

Uses the Web Speech API — nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see many voices?
Available voices depend on your operating system and browser. Chrome and Edge typically offer the most; some voices download on first use.
Does it work offline?
Many built-in voices work offline, but some high-quality voices stream from the OS/browser provider. This varies by platform.
Can I download the audio?
The Web Speech API plays audio but doesn't expose a downloadable file, so saving isn't supported in-browser.
Is my text sent anywhere?
The text is handed to your browser's speech engine locally; Bytewrench itself sends nothing to a server.
